Bishops Cleeve Tithe Barn is a Grade II historic tithe barn dating back to the 15th century. The lovely Main Hall has oak beams and Cotswold stone walls. This historic building, which is Bishops Cleeve’s village hall, is easily accessible from Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Gloucester. If you are looking for a beautiful building with the flexibility to create your own unique day, then this could be the venue for you.
The Main Hall, where you would hold your reception, is on the first floor, it has a sprung maple wood dance floor and its 20m x 9m size can accommodate 150 or 120 people sitting at tables. Tables and blue upholstered chairs are provided.
The whole barn can be booked for a wedding from Friday evening to Sunday morning or any of the other rooms can be booked for a smaller celebration. Full details are available by clicking on the facilities page for a list of room sizes and pictures of each room.
All enquiries should be addressed to the booking secretary.
To book the barn go to the booking page where you will find the fees, conditions of hire, health and safety and other information. To check dates, click the availability button which gives you access to a calendar which shows when the Barn is available for hire. For next and following years only weekend bookings are shown. The weekday regular bookings are not loaded until nearer the end of the year, there is a presumption that these will continue much as they have this year.
Please remember that a booking is not pencilled into the diary until it has been discussed with the booking secretary. Your booking is not confirmed until you return a signed contract with the date, times, contact details and deposit to the booking secretary. The deposit is held in the bank and will be returned after your event if the barn is left clean, tidy and no damage has occurred. The full fee is then due three weeks before the event. For more details and methods of payment see the How to Book section.
The Tithe Barn bar is licensed for the sale of alcohol and is run by the licensee who has sole rights for the sale of alcohol, drinks and corkage at the Tithe Barn Bar. Only alcohol purchased at the Bar can be consumed on the premises and if it is found that alcohol has been brought from outside and consumed on the premises the hirer will lose their deposit.
More on the Barn’s history can be seen on the history pages.
FLAMES, SMOKE and CANDLES
Please note, for health and safety and insurance reasons we do not allow the operation of smoke machines, this upsets the fire alarm system. Also, live flames, candles, or tea lights, whether enclosed or not, cannot be allowed. Battery operated flickering tea lights are fine.
There is adequate car parking at the Tithe Barn, but please be aware during Friday afternoons car parking spaces in the rear car park have been let to local businesses during the working week. On Saturday the whole of the car park is available except three spaces by the allotments at the back of the barn which are reserved for allotment holders.
