THE POST FINAL PHASE OF THE REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

Details of things that might effect the Main Hall, such as having the windows replaced and having the stage refurbished, are only ideas at the moment. If the funding can be found they will be planned installation during the school holidays and, if possible, when the hall is not being used. We will keep you informed as early as we possibly can.

 

BUILDING

The foyer fire and security controls are mounted on an oak panel moved to the left side of the electricity cupboard.

 

If you are last one out we ask that lock the new glazed door and exit through the oak door pushing it shut to lock it.

Set the alarm in the normal way or enter 1, 2, 3, 4 into the control panel fitted above the fire control , followed by "Yes". You will then have plenty of time to walk to the oak door and shut it behind you. Note this code is exit only and will not allow you to unset the alarm. You will be given the code when you are given a key.

FANS

The new 'destratification fans' in the Main Hall ceiling are working well, providing more usable heat with out causing drafts, please ensure that you turn them on when you turn the lights on. The speed control is at the correct setting so please don't touch it. They are designed to reduce our heating bills, which are enormous, by bringing the hot air down from the roof space, where it heats the beams down to where it will warm the space people use. The thermostats should work correctly and the correct temperature should be reached in the Barn a lot sooner than at present, and the temperature should not so readily over shoot and get too hot. Please give us feed-back on how they work, or don't, and we will learn from your experience to make them better.

 

THE LIFT

The lift is now operational in the extension.

 

CAR PARKING

The front row facing the road is hired out to CAPITA during the working week from 07:30 to 18:30, and so should have no impact on evening and weekend events. To see which spaces are involved click here.

 

NOTICE BOARD

The contractor has had to take down the notice boards and I commend your ad hoc versatility.

When they are reinstated, committee member John Andrews has agreed to take responsibility for the notice boards. So if you would like a notice put up please would you pass it to John or leave it on the Reception desk marked for John's attention. We would like this to apply to both the inside an outside notices please. We are planning to buy a new notice board for the front gate, which we intend to be slightly larger and will have a glazed front. For a bit of order we are going to ask that notices are restricted to A5, with occasional A4, but no larger. This will make it as fair as possible to as many users as possible. Sorry, but the glazed front will not be suitable for notices with a tear off tab.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOLIDAY DATES? Please can you email the booking secretary with your holiday dates so that rooms can be released for parties etc and so that we don't charge you for times you are not there.

First Aid: Note there is a first aid box in both the new kitchen off the Main Hall and in the refurbished kitchen on the ground floor. If you do need to use it please will you fill in a report sheet in the new 'Incident Book' that is on the book shelf in the Reception area off the foyer. Lets hope we don't need it but just in case it's nice to know it's there. And thanks to Lenora Smith for taking responsibility for the contents.

Caretaker: We no longer have a caretaker, cleaning is being done by Done & Dusted Mondays and Fridays with lavatories being done on Wednesdays as well. Key holding and maintenance are now being done by the Trustees.

 

Complaints: Please get back to me with any difficulties you have as soon as possible. We can deal with them and put changes into place to prevent them happening again.
